Good Steward

Bishop’s Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities exists to make parishioners more aware of pro-life issues, and to recruit volunteers to help meet those needs. This parish-based program relies on the diocesan and state pro-life offices for information and guidance. Its objectives are to coordinate parish implementation for the Respect Life Programs, promote and assist crisis pregnancy agencies, post-abortion counseling, and to foster public awareness of the need for a constitutional amendment and other laws and policies to restore legal protection to the unborn. Healing Hearts (HH) is a grief outreach ministry that offers a Christ-centered approach to meet the needs of those who have lost a loved one. At Cathedral, trained volunteers, under the direction of the pastor, provide aid to the bereaved on a one-on-one basis, offering support throughout the grief process until services are no longer needed. For those who have lost an infant through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, HH provides a caring and supportive trained volunteer who also has experienced the loss of a baby.
