In the absence of the choir, trained cantors perform an important ministry by leading the congregation in common sacred song and responsorial singing. New cantors are welcome. The Cathedral is fortunate to have the Casavant pipe organ–one of the finest organs in Lincoln. Organists accompany the congregational and choral singing, and also provide instrumental pieces before and after Sunday Masses. Audition required for cantor or organist.
