OUR CURRENT TOTALS

Total pledged as of today: $2,677,680
Amount already set aside for Alumni Way: $165,000

OUR FUNDING PRIORITIES

1. Campus Accessibility and Safety (Church): Replacing concrete surfaces and railings surrounding the Cathedral will enhance the safety of our campus and provide ADA-compliant accessibility to our church, parish office, and Perpetual Adoration chapel. This project will also provide more space for fellowship after Mass and other events. Renderings for this project can be found on the previous two pages.

2. Alumni Way Secure Entry Vestibule (School): Completing Alumni Way, first introduced in 2017, will provide an attractive facade and significantly improved security for Cathedral School. Visitors will first enter a secured welcome center prior to accessing the school hallways. This project will also create new administrative offices, a conference room, and an additional classroom.

3. Preschool and Fine Arts Addition (School): A 9,000 sq. ft. addition to the existing Cathedral School will establish new classrooms for preschool (currently housed in a stand-alone structure) and relocate the fine arts classrooms (art, music, and library). This project will also expand our award-winning Nature Explore Classroom for preschoolers.

4. Playground and Green Space Improvements (Church and School): The addition of green space on our playground and relocation of basketball hoops will greatly improve surfaces for children playing at school recess or with their families.

5. Pipe Organ Restoration (Church): Overdue repairs to the console and pipes of our church organ will restore it for future decades of liturgical worship.

OUR CATHEDRAL PRAYER

Heavenly Father,
You are the source of every good gift.
We ask You to pour out Your Holy Spirit and blessings
upon Cathedral and Pius X High School.
Enliven within our leaders, parishioners, and school families
a clarity of vision and the courage to be saints.
Guide us in creating a parish and school campus
that reflects Your beauty—
where every person’s dignity is honored,
and where the joy of learning reveals the wonder of
Your creation.
Grant us willing hearts and financial strength,
so as to build a safe and sacred home
for worship, education, and community.
May our parish be a radiant sign of Your presence in the world,
that we might lead all souls to the Risen Christ
and share in His Resurrection.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

MORE INFORMATION FROM MSGR. FUCINARO

From our founding, we, the Cathedral of the Risen Christ Parish, have risen to every challenge to give without counting the cost to see to the education of thousands of children across generations of families, forming the next generation to carry out the Christian Apostolate – and in the process, drawing many more souls to restore all things in Christ!

Of course, our faithful partner in education throughout these many years has been Pius X High School. Presently, well more than 100 current students at Pius are alumni of Cathedral and have been a beacon of hope for the Church and for the community.

Indeed, near to my heart is the strong culture that has been established at Pius to foster and nurture vocations to the Priesthood (many others to wholesome, beautiful marriages and to consecrated life as well)! Happily, fully half of our seminarians are Pius alums and nearly that many of our priests are as well! These are successes we can truly celebrate!

The work being done here speaks for itself, but I want to share briefly the sacred story of a life transformed for Christ by this student’s years at Cathedral.

Thanks to our low tuition (thanks in large part to the generosity of you, our parishioners!), a recent alumna, who was enabled to attend Cathedral due to our low tuition, began to blossom through the experience.

Her intellectual development took off, and she began to involve herself in practically every possible activity. Her growth has continued to develop and now at Pius she is wonderfully engaged in all aspects of high school life, growing in age and in grace.

Success stories like this one abound and may they abound all the more!

Before us in the Forward in Faith and Excellence Campaign for the future of Pius X High School is an opportunity likewise to invest boldly in the future of our Cathedral of the Risen Christ Parish and School and especially our children.

Reaching our goal in this campaign will require tremendous generosity of us all. Its effects, however, will be felt not only at Pius, but in great measure, here at Cathedral also.

While this campaign is focused on Pius X High School, it will also directly benefit our Cathedral family through its revenue sharing formula. This means a portion of what we give will return to Cathedral, helping us meet our own church and school needs. By supporting this effort, we are not only investing in Catholic education at the high school level – we are also building up the life and mission of our own parish and school community here at home.

In particular, we have identified several pressing needs to be addressed in the context of this capital campaign, and the subsequent pages will lay out in greater detail our proposals of how your generosity could profoundly benefit our parish community.

The most urgent of our undertakings concern campus accessibility and safety. As you are no doubt already aware, much of our concrete is not in a good state of repair. Replacing the concrete surfaces and railings surrounding the Cathedral will enhance the safety of our campus and provide ADA-compliant accessibility to our church, parish office, and Perpetual Adoration chapel. This project will also provide more space for fellowship after Mass and other events. This is our first and most urgent priority.

Depending upon the outcomes of this campaign, in the case that monies collected exceed our targeted goal and funding needs for the above project, we could proceed to complete the Alumni Way Secure Entry Vestibule (School).

This project would bring to completion Alumni Way, first introduced in 2017, which would provide an attractive facade and significantly improved security for Cathedral School. Visitors would first enter a secured welcome center prior to accessing the school hallways. This project would also create new administrative offices, a conference room, and an additional classroom.

As a further stretch project, representing a tremendous investment in the future of our parish and school, we would seek to fund the building of a new, permanent, and more functional preschool and fine arts building, with connection to the main school building.

The new structure would add over 9,000 sq. ft. to the existing Cathedral School, establish new classrooms for preschool (currently housed in a stand-alone structure), and relocate and expand the fine arts classrooms (art, music, and library). This project would also expand our award-winning Nature Explore Classroom for preschoolers. In conjunction with the foregoing, improvements would be made to the playground and a significant amount of green space would be added as well.

Lastly, we would hope to address overdue repairs to the console and pipes of our monumental pipe organ restoring it for future decades of liturgical worship.

In the coming months, all parishioners and school families will learn more about the Forward in Faith and Excellence Campaign. In the coming weeks, I will be approaching you, our parishioners, to seek your financial support. In the meantime, I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting this community effort: through your time, monetary gifts, and most importantly, your prayers.

Let us join together in this vital work – extending the mission of Jesus to the furthest corners of the earth!
